Educators
Daniel Ricardo Teran
My aim, as a potter, is to create an opportunity for an intimate experience — for the viewer and user of my pieces to slow down, to hold, turn, touch, and investigate what I have created. I have become increasingly concerned about the pace at which most people move through their day, with little time for community, family, explorations of the natural world, and overall well being. The notion of slowing down to enjoy life's subtleties must absolutely be manifested!
Daniel graduated form the Kansas City Art Institute in 2007. While Studying at KCAI, he was a studio assistant for the Ceramic artist Victor Babu, and the Painter Ron Slowinsky. Teran has exhibited his work nationally and has work numerous private collections and museums, including the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Kamm Teapot Foundation. As a passionate and dedicated teacher, Daniel has taught at various art centers and institutions across the country. He has been a Resident Artist at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, ME, The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, FL, Pottery Northwest in Seattle, WA, and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA. In 2017 Daniel and his Partner Naomi Cleary, after spending many years teaching, giving workshops, and selling their own hand made pottery, combined their creative forces into one single business, Palmer Planter Company. In 2020 Daniel and Naomi sold their home in Philadelphia and moved their family and business to Daniel’s hometown of Dallas, TX.

Kylie Nicole Yeager
Kylie began her exploration with pottery during her second year of college at The University of Arkansas where she earned a degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics. During her time in undergrad, she began her teaching career at the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After moving back to North Texas, she’s thrilled to be surrounded by the amazing and encouraging community at Glaze.
Kylie aims to intertwine her love for interior decorating with her passion of ceramics. Inspired by organic textures and natural colors, she aims to create work that portrays the sense of peace that nature brings, into people’s homes. She doesn’t believe it’s a coincidence that humans crave incorporating natural materials and living things into their spaces, because it brings a sense of warmth, richness, and comfort. Kylie’s hope is to create objects that allow the viewer to witness a touch of earth inside while serving as a unique handmade piece to decorate and admire.
Since Graduating, Kylie is in the stages of further exploration within her medium and is excited to continue her passion at Glaze, teaching others, and spreading a positive light to those around her. She encourages each person to find the things that inspire their sense of purpose and inner peace.

Melissa Fiskaldo
I believe creativity, combined with exploration, can be the balm all of us need to better navigate through our daily lives. For me, that comes in the form of pottery. Before finding myself in Texas, I was a part of the Goggleworks Center for the Arts in Pennsylvania where I was a resident artist and taught in the ceramics studio for over a decade.
In my own work, I explore textures that have meaning to my personal life and carry the essence of my loved ones. I draw inspiration from the mountains and greenery of my home state, this natural beauty will always be in my heart.
Whether I'm handbuilding functional pieces or creating them on the wheel, my goal is to make you smile when you use them.
Curiosity, wonder, and passion.... these are the ingredients to finding your creative voice and I'm here for it.
Let's see what we can create!

I began my pottery endeavour in 2017 and throughout the years the then hobby inevitably turned into a passion. I mainly focus on functional ceramic pieces that people can use on a regular basis. By mixing my love of clay and slight obsession with plants, I curate goods that are not only perfect for you but for your plant babies as well.
Pottery is a powerful thing. You are not only developing a skill but acquiring patience and learning to overcome obstacles all the while gaining a community. I’m a big advocate for a judgement free work environment where you can express yourself creatively and have fun while doing so.
I am a resident artist here as well. I aim to constantly push the boundaries of my craft by experimenting with new forms and clay bodies. The off chance that I’m not in the studio you can find me binge watching a show, drinking tea, and updating my spotify playlists.
