This course is 8 weeks meeting every Thursday from 10-1pm. Students will explore pottery through hand building techniques. Students will learn essential clay handling and care, as well as tips for making uniques ceramic objects as well as creating ceramic whistles. Techniques covered include pinching, coiling, slab building, and slump molding. Students will also experiment with slip decoration and surface techniques such as mishima, sqraffito, inlay, wash away, and glazing. Students will learn how to create clay whistles, coil pots and slab altered forms.

In Addition to class time students are also allowed to work during open studio time through out the week which is 30 hours a week. Your instructor will give you the time at you first class meeting.
